Acts Chapter 21.

Acts Chapter 21.

The Journey to Jerusalem.                     21:1-16.
            Cos.                 B-D.   258.        21:1.
            Rhodes.                        B-D. 1096.
            Patara.              B-D.   938.
            Phoenicia.         B-D.   992.        21:2.
            Cyprus.             B-D.   285.        21:3.
            Syria.                B-D. 1229.
            Tyre.                 B-D. 1302.
The disciples at Tyre show great concern for Paul's welfare.
            Ptolemais.        B-D. 1063.        21:7.
            Caesarea.         B-D. 1302.        21:8.
            *   An evangelist.  Was Philip (B-D. 984)  a resident rather than an itinerate          evangelist?   Compare 8:40.
            *   A prophet.      Did Agabus come from Judea to warn Paul?   B-D. 18.

We observe:-
The pleading of the disciples.                21:4.
            The prophecy of Agabus.                                  21:11.
            The persuasion of Paul.                         21:13-14.
            Paul at Jerusalem.                                 21:17-22.
            Received by the brethren.                      21:17-22.
There is no evidence that James and the other leaders opposed Paul.  See B-D. 946 to 948.
            Rite of conciliation.                               21:23-26.
Paul was ready to do much to conciliate people.  (see 1.Cor.9:20).
The wrath of the Jews.                           21:27-31.
Religious zeal can be a murderous fanaticism.
Rescued by the Roman soldiers. See reference to, Tower of Antonia, B-D. 616.
The situation was completely changed when the captain discovered that Paul was            a Roman citizen.  Does claim to citizenship constitute citizen-responsibilities?
The request to address the people.        21:37-40.
Paul spoke in Hebrew or Aramaic in an effort to make a favourable impression upon them.
